SGM Records Releases

The Prodigal Son is a Country/Rock/Americana 9 track album consisting of all-original material. Lyrics written by Cj Sparks. Music Arranged and Performed by Mason and Wayne Brewer.

Gary Brewer & the Kentucky Ramblers celebrate their 40th Anniversary in the music business with this 14 track album packed with all-original material. Special guests featuring Sam Bush, The Travelin' McCourys, Russell Moore, Dale Ann Bradley, Doug Phelps (The Kentucky Headhunters), T. Graham Brown, Ashton Shepherd, Ralph Stanley II.
40th Anniversary Celebration received the honor of the #1 slot on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart twice in 2020 and remained in the top 5 for over 30 weeks.

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers, a legendary, internationally touring, 6 generation Bluegrass Band, come together with National Music Prodigy, EmiSunshine. The guys and Emi headed into the studio to record a Vintage Country favorite, and John Prine song called "Paradise" on Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers' recent Country album, 'Vintage Country Revival'. With Gary Brewer singing lead vocals, the Kentucky Ramblers doing all the instrumentation, and EmiSunshine singing her verse and harmonizing, this crossover of Country and Americana is heavenly.

In addition to their featured single, "Paradise", Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers have included various Vintage Country favorites and classics like "Bye Bye Love", "Good Hearted Woman", "T for Texas", "I'm Movin' On", "If I Needed You", "Yesterday's Wine", and more. Gary and the boys took these Country tunes and added their own twist.

Gary Brewer brought 3 generations of Brewers together on this CD Release. Gary, his father (Finley J. Brewer), and his 2 sons (Wayne and Mason Brewer), along with Banjo player (Larry Beasley), and Fiddle player (Dan Boner) made this Bluegrass album a unique and fun arrangement.

Over half of the songs on Homestretch were written by either Gary Brewer or his sons. With both original and classic Bluegrass tunes, Homestretch includes some of the Brewer's Gospel and Country favorites too.

Home Brew, a project that was recorded as natural as possible with the intent of producing a "live" "real sound". Within its 12 tracks are 3 original Tom T. Hall and Dixie songs ("Elvis on Velvet And Monroe on Grass", "Chattanooga Dog", and "Molly and Mildred". Also included is "Dance in Old Kentucky" written by Raymond McLain (and performed by him often on the road with Gary Brewer). You'll also find "Poor Ellen Smith", "I Haven't Seen Mary in Years", "Sea of Heartbreak" and more.

Jimmy Martin's monumental career in bluegrass music is attributable in no small measure to the quality and commercialism of the songs that he and his Sunny Mountain Boys introduced to the genre.

A great many of these songs are credited to Jimmy as co-writer with his longtime mandolinist and tenor vocalist Paul Williams. Country charted, top ten singles by Jimmy Martin in the late 1950s to mid-1970s, however, also showcased the talents of several of country music's premier songwriters, including Tom T. Hall, Freddie Hart, Bob Montgomery, and Autry Inman.

It is these songs - along with Tom T.'s latest contribution to the legend of the "King of Bluegrass Music," the jocular Jimmy Martin Songs For Dinner - that make up the focus of this album.

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers headed to the studio in 1998 to record a full Gospel album. Gary features some of his favorites he learned at church as he was brought up singing and leading the choir. Tracks include songs like "The Rolling Waves of Jordan", "Just Steal Away And Pray", "Dust On The Bible", and Sweet Hour Of Prayer.

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers headed into the studio to record Memories of Home in late 1996 and finished up in early 1997. Gary featured many original tunes and he arranged several songs written by others. A treat included on this particular record is Gary Brewer's very own firstborn son "Gary Wayne "Little Stretch" Brewer Jr. on a tune called Y'all Come. You can really feel the family love and bond on that one! It features 3 generations rolled up into one tune (Finley J. Brewer Jr., Gary Brewer, and Gary Wayne Brewer Jr.).

In the late winter of 1994, Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers had the good fortune to carry their distinctive bluegrass and old-time sounds to audiences throughout Europe and the United Kingdom. A total of eighteen concerts were given in almost as many days in Holland, Germany, Switzerland, England, and Scotland. During the group's stay, they encountered just about every mode of transportation possible, from 747 jumbo jets to cars, vans, trains, subways, and ferries.

In 1995, Gary Brewer recorded this instrumental Guitar CD at Falk Studio. Gary features Bill Monroe and Uncle Josh Graves together for the very first time in the studio. He sees that and the fact that "Guitar" was Bill Monroe's last commercial recording before his passing as his highest accomplishments. Gary Brewer features classic tracks like The Ozark Rag, White Horse Breakdown, The Old Brown Case, etc. He features original tunes including Touring With Monroe (which was written while on tour with Bill Monroe [the Father of Bluegrass]), Roan Mountain Ramble, Tom Rock Twist, and more. Also included on this instrumental album is Gary Brewer's acoustic version of a Rock N' Roll classic (made famous by Kansas) titled Dust In The Wind. Gary Brewer is the only Bluegrass artist that has recorded Dust In The Wind. After releasing Guitar, Gary received a double nomination for Guitar Player of the Year at the IBMAs in the years 1999 and 2000.

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers recorded "Money To Ride The Train" in 1993 at Falk Studio (Louisville, KY). The featured track "Money To Ride The Train" was written by Gary Brewer himself about a saying "talk comes cheap but it takes money to ride the train". Also included on this album is another Gary Brewer original called "Sally-O" written about a milk cow at Gary's grandpa's farm.

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers headed to the studio in 1992 to record a full Gospel album. Gary features some of his favorites he learned at church as he was brought up singing and leading the choir. Tracks include songs like "Far Above that Starry Sky", "I Remember All About It", "Someday We Know", "Reach Out and Touch the Lord", and more. Other tracks include original song "The Voice" written by Gary Brewer and an original song written by Gary's father, Finley J. Brewer, called "Lord, You Are the Love of My Heart".

In 1991, Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers took to the Alpha Recording studio in Elizabethtown, KY to record "Goin' Back To Kentucky". Gary included several of his very own original songs like "Tennessee Is Where I Belong", "Pack My Bags", "Lesia's Song" (a song Gary wrote for his wife), "The Blues Down In Kentucky", and more. He also featured an original song written by his very own Ron Stewart called "Sleepy Valley".

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers headed to Fox Farm Recording Studio in 1989 to record Down Home Memories. Gary's focus for this CD was to showcase his Rambler sound through his own original tunes (such as: Johnson City Blues, Down Home Memories, Me and the Rambler Sound, etc.) and how they put their own twist on some Bluegrass classics (such as: Short Life of Trouble, Graycoat Soldiers, I'm Gonna Sleep With One Eye Open, etc.). Gary Brewer also included a song composed by his very own, Larry Beasley (Rambler Blues).

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers' live show consists of Bluegrass originals and classics, Gospel, and Old-time Mountain Music. Gary Brewer's family music heritage runs back 6 generations. His grandpa "Pap Brewer" was actually an original member of The Carter Family. He was known for his fiddle and banjo style of Old-time. This album features all Old-time style tracks.

Gary Brewer is a true Elvis Presley fan; so much so that he wanted to go into the studio and do a tribute album to him. He dedicated this entire album to him saying "This project is dedicated to the greatest entertainer of all time: Elvis Presley". Gary includes classic Elvis tunes such as "Shake, Rattle, & Roll", "That's Alright Mama", "Always On My Mind", and "Unchained Melody".

Jim Brewer, father of Gary Brewer (of Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers) releases his very own solo album. It includes Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers doing all the instrumentation. Jim features tracks like "Down South", Live and Let Live, Wreck Of The Old 97, and more. He also includes Gospel tracks Brand New Angel and They Won't Believe On Me.

Wayne went into the studio in the mid-summer months of 2015 and took several famous fiddle artists with him including Dan Kelly, Dan Boner, Michael Cleveland, Raymond McLain, and Steve Day. Also, Gary Brewer, Finley J. Brewer, and Mason Brewer were featured on the CD. There are 10 fiddle tunes included: an Old Time Medley, Down in the Willow Garden, Faded Love, The 8th of January, Round Town Gals, The Arkansas Traveler, The Old Unlucky Devil, Bile ‘Em Cabbage Down, Cajun Fiddle, and Little Brown Jug. On April 1, 2016, SGM Records hosted Wayne Brewer’s Debut Album “The Kentucky Fiddler” CD release party.
