Vintage Country Revival
With Special Guest EmiSunshine

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers, a legendary, internationally touring, 6 generation Bluegrass Band, come together with National Music Prodigy, EmiSunshine. The guys and Emi headed into the studio to record a Vintage Country favorite, and John Prine song called "Paradise" on Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers' new album, 'Vintage Country Revival'. With Gary Brewer singing lead vocals, the Kentucky Ramblers doing all the instrumentation, and EmiSunshine singing her verse and harmonizing, this crossover of Country and Americana is heavenly.

In addition to their featured single, "Paradise", Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers have included various Vintage Country favorites and classics like "Bye Bye Love", "Good Hearted Woman", "T for Texas", "I'm Movin' On", "If I Needed You", "Yesterday's Wine", and more. Gary and the boys took these Country tunes and added their own twist.

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers Biography

Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers, a family that goes back 6 generations into their musical roots tours today with 3 generations. The band was formed in 1980, and is based out of West Point, Kentucky. Their roots are out of Roan Mountain, TN. The members of the band include leader Gary Brewer, his father (Finley J. Brewer), and Gary’s 2 sons (Gary “Wayne” Brewer Jr. and Mason Brewer). Each play their own instruments, and sometimes each other’s. Gary Brewer is on Lead Guitar and Old-time Banjo with vocals, Finley J. is on Rhythm Guitar with vocals, Wayne Brewer is on Bass and Fiddle with vocals, and Mason Brewer is on Mandolin and Bass with vocals. They are also accompanied by a banjo player. Gary and the boys have a unique sound that blends tight family harmony, Bluegrass originals, Bluegrass-Gospel, and Old-time Mountain music. Gary has stamped their style of music as “Brewgrass”.

Gary Brewer was born into Bluegrass. The legendary Finley J. “Pap” Brewer (Gary’s Grandfather) performed frequently on radio (in Knoxville) and, as a youngster, appeared on several shows with the original Carter Family, playing the music that formed the foundation of Traditional Bluegrass Music in later years.

Gary was only 14 years old when he formed Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers. All his life, he played music with his dad as a pass time. He always wanted to make his living doing what he loved, so that is exactly what he set out to do.

Now, 37 years later, he yields 48 recordings including such notable guests as Bill Monroe, J.D. Crowe, Uncle Josh Graves, Doyle Lawson, Larry Sparks, Dave Evans, and many more. Gary and the Boys have toured through all 50 states, 18 foreign countries in Europe, and have had encore performances at the Grand Ole Opry and The Lincoln Center. Brewer has appeared in nearly every major Bluegrass Publication, festival, or event; including television shows and specials over the years.

“Brewer’s sound will surely appeal to Bluegrass purists. He obviously has a great respect and love for the musicians that came before him”
-John Goad (Bluegrass Today)

Included in his 48 recordings, Gary did an All Star tribute to the King of Bluegrass, Jimmy Martin, before he passed. He called it “Jimmy Martin Songs for Dinner”. It featured 12 Bluegrass and Country tracks.

“Gary is a great guitar picker and has a great voice. Him and his dad have the best show on the circuit!”
-Jimmy Martin (The King of Bluegrass)

Out of all of Gary’s accomplishments throughout his career, he esteems being the last person to have commercially recorded with the late and great Bill Monroe one of his highest. Gary had Bill Monroe on his “Guitar” CD along with Uncle Josh Graves. He took pride in knowing he was the only one to ever get Bill Monroe and Uncle Josh Graves into
the studio together. Because of Gary’s “Guitar” album, he was then nominated for Guitar Player of the Year at the IBMAs.

“This boy right here is 100% Bluegrass! He comes from good stock.”
-Bill Monroe (The Father of Bluegrass)

Today, Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers enjoy touring spreading their musical style that appeals to various audiences. They are out promoting their most recent release, “Vintage Country Revival” (which features special guest EmiSunshine).

Gary and his boys are keeping Bluegrass music alive in the Bluegrass state by hosting a Friday Night Bluegrass show in Shepherdsville, KY (just minutes away from his home), and featuring professional guest bands each week. Also, Gary and his boys host a Summer concert series at Kentucky's Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass called Bluegrass Summer Nights. Gary is a proud Bluegrass and Old-time Country veteran, and because of his hard work, his sons are carrying on the Family Tradition.

“It is such a blessing to have my Dad and Boys out here carrying on the Brewer Legacy and Tradition in Music. To step on stage show after show with Three Generations of Brewers is just AWESOME!”
-Gary Brewer (The Voice of Tradition)
