Biography
Seth Mitchell is a journeyman band leader and sideman in the Baltimore bluegrass and Americana scene. After spending his formative years in rural southwest Pennsylvania, he studied music in college then served a six years enlistment in the US Air Force. He is proficient on a number of instruments but most commonly seen out and about singing lead or tenor with a guitar, upright bass, or mandolin in hand.
A stalwart collaborator for numerous local original acts, he launched the Seth Mitchell Band in 2023, roping in longtime bluegrass collaborators to bring his original songs to life on the stages of mid-Atlantic venues.
In 2016 and 2017 he released The Forest and Wildflower. His third album, Glen Burnie Man, adds the drive of Baltimore bluegrass to Seth’s strong lyrical abilities.
