A love song about sacrifice, longing, and hope. Originally written for the Alberta Gov't Documentary, which won the "Gold Camera Award" in Chicago, Ill., I re-wrote this song, and found my passion come to fruition, by re-recording this gem in early 2016, and finally releasing it in 2017. It tells the sadness of separation between loved ones.

2. Give Us Freedom - ( 3:54)
Songwriter: W.A.(Bill) Bogaardt
Publishing: Songsearch Music International Co. Ltd.
PRO: SOCAN Canada
Copyright - 2016

I wrote this song with a "wake-up" message in the hope that
the path that mankind
is destroying, will be corrected, since we're all experiencing the
the increasing number of devastating hurricanes and the fact
that we can't seem to stop the rains.
Can we still correct things in our World?

3. You Are My Essence of Life - 3:58
Songwriter: W.A.(Bill) Bogaardt
Publishing: Songsearch Music International Co. Ltd.
PRO: SOCAN Canada
Copyright - 2005

This song was written for my wife Patricia, and the many journeys we've experienced together. The meaning and intent are found in the lyrics.

4. One Word, One Song -4:27

Written by Ben & Rick Bogaardt, this is a powerful love ballad, where "lovers dance on stars...and make love on moons and mars".

5. One More Road - 3:20
Songwriters: Music-Ben Bogaardt; Words-Bill Bogaardt
Publishing: Songsearch Music International Co. Ltd.
PRO - SOCAN Canada

This song has special meaning to us, since the original song was written by Ben Bogaardt, our oldest brother who passed in 2009.
After the loss of our brother, we stepped back from the music industry for a number of years, but in 2016 we decided to include's Ben's music in our latest release, " Unfinished Business-2016". Bill re-wrote the words in the spirit of brother Ben, and the free spirit that he stood for.
The song features Archie, the youngest brother, on lead vocals, with an up-beat rendition about "riding your road to freedom".
Our talented brother Ben is still sadly missed today, but his music will always live on in the legacy of the Brothers Bogaardt.

6. Never, Never Again - 4:07 Copyright 2018

The killing spree continues. It's El Paso, Dayton, Parkland and other places. The senseless slaughter of un-suspecting people continues. I was touched to the core thinking about the parents and families of the slain people who are left behind.
The Killing MUST STOP! [b[

This is an up-tempo protest song, pleading to end the gun violence by banning the type of guns which have become "killing machines".
Can we eventually prevent more killings in Schools, Malls or places of Worship by getting the support from those in power, so that people and children can be safe ?

THE BROTHERS BOGAARDT BIOGRAPHY
Bill Bogaardt is the founding member of The Brothers Bogaardt

With their latest release of their Album entitled: "UNFINISHED BUSINESS-2016", the Brothers Bogaardt have an exciting story to tell.

Born in the Dutch East Indies, (now Indonesia), their family roots were from the Island of Java, where their Dutch parents passed on their talents to their 4 sons, Ben, Bill, Rick and Archie. Their father, Willy was a bandleader of an acoustic group of musicians, called "The Indian Melody Makers". Their father, played Violin and stand-up Bass. The group was very popular in the pre-war years.
Their Mother, Alida-Louise Bogaardt, was a beautiful singer, who appeared regularly with the Indian Melody Makers.
Then the Japanese invaded Java, and the War broke out. Ben, Bill and their Mother, Alida, spent the next 4 1/2 years in various concentration camps throughout Java as Japanese Prisoners of War. Their Father, Willy was sent to Japan, and became a slave laborer in the coal mines, and only barely survived his ordeal. When the Nuclear bombs dropped on Hiroshima, and Nagasaki, it promptly ended the War, and he was lucky to survive.
After 5 years of not knowing, if anyone in the family was alive, Ben, Bill, their Mother, Alida and their Father re-united in Makassar, the provincial capital of South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Much later, their Mother, Alida-Louise Bogaardt, wrote a book entitled: "DARK SKIES OVER PARADISE", to recount the horrors of their experiences in the Japanese concentration camps.

The two younger brothers, Rick and Archie were born after the war ended and they all returned to Java, where their Father resumed his duties as an Electrical Engineer, in Bandung.
The family re-located to the Netherlands, where they resided for 3 1/2 years prior to immigrating to Canada, and settling in Edmonton, Alberta.
Much later they moved to the Okanagan Valley in B.C. where they still live today.
In his teens, Bill was heavily involved in music in Edmonton, while his older brother Ben was in the Dutch Navy, stationed in New Guinea.
When Ben arrived in Canada, Bill convinced his brother to form a duo, and when the two younger brothers, matured from their teens, Bill & Ben asked them to join them, and THE BROTHERS BOGAARDT became a reality.

Bill, as the founding member of The Brothers Bogaardt, was the driving force behind the success of the Brothers Bogaardt, as they travelled extensively throughout Canada, from Vancouver Island to Nova Scotia.
They also travelled in the U.S.A. and were featured on International Shows in Europe.

In Canada they performed on National Television with the CBC in Winnipeg, on Radio, local Television shows, as well as being featured on the Tommy Banks Show, a television show in Edmonton, with the Nationally acclaimed music icon Tommy Banks.
They also recorded in Kansas City, Mo, Nashville, Tennessee, and Edmonton, Alberta.

In Nashville, Tennessee, they recorded the musical soundtrack with original songs written by Bill and Ben for an Alberta Government documentary, entitled: "Alberta on the Northside", a film documentary about Fort McMurray and the Oil Sands project. The film received a GOLD CAMERA AWARD, for the best film documentary, competing against 600 entries from around the World.
The Executive producer credited the music written by Bill & Ben Bogaardt as the contributing factor in winning the GOLD CAMERA AWARD.
Bill also, won an award for the Best Original Music written for a film documentary entitled: "TIME OF THE TARSANDS", which was a follow up story on the Tarsands (Oil) in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

Tragically, in 2009, the oldest brother BEN lost his fight to Cancer, and Bill, Rick and Archie stepped back from the music industry for 6 years.
However, their passion to write, create, record and produce original music, re-kindled their love of music, with a mission to leave a legacy of their musical experiences to their families. However, their new music is also aimed at lifelong fans to enjoy, and to find NEW fans from around the world.

The Brothers Bogaardt have many credits to their name and their music, but didn't achieve the success that they always strived for, which was the reason for Bill's passionate drive to complete the "UNFINISHED BUSINESS -2016" Album. This release includes music written by their brother Ben, who passed on in 2009, as a tribute to his legacy, (One More Road), which re-visits the close bond between the Brothers Bogaardt.

Bill, Rick and Archie incorporated their CURRENT MUSICAL STYLE, with their unique "Bogaardt-style" approach, using CURRENT, UP-TOWN FUNKY BEATS, ROCKIN' GUITAR RIFFS, AND EMOTIONALLY-CHARGED TENDER LOVE SONGS.

"Eventhough, it has been a long journey, towards achieving this goal of producing "UNIFINISHED BUSINESS-2016", we have the satisfaction of being able to produce our original music, in our own recording studio, with many years invested in learning the craft of recording, mixing and mastering our own stuff and the freedom of having "artistic control" of our own sounds", states Bill.
"Now, the challenge continues to market and digitally distribute our music to people and listeners all around the world, which we can now accomplish through the incredible technology and marketing platform made available through AIRPLAY DIRECT."

"We'd love to share our music around the World, and we are currently experiencing radio stations, in France, Belgium, Canada, and the U.S.A, who have put our music on High and Standard rotation and we are humbly honored by this response, and hope to build on this milestone achievement".
"Our hope is to continue to produce our original music, as well as help and mentor, younger Artists, realize their dreams. We are working with several talented youngsters, which will be released in the up-coming months".
"Our musical influences have centered around artists such as Bruno Mars, Huey Lewis and the News, The Beatles, The BeeGees, Vince Gill, Lionel Ritchie, Joe Cocker, Neil Diamond, Harry Belafonte, Elton John, Credence Clearwater Revival and many more". "It's an exciting ride"
