Biography
Alexandra Legouix and The Sunflowers!

Alexandra Legouix and The Sunflowers have created a sophisticated but accessible fusion of latin, jazz, soul, reggae and pop influences. They make music that people can relate to on many different levels... think about it ... chill to it ... dance to it ... make love to it ... funky, modern, relevant lyrics and tunes crafted to subtly eclectic rhythms.

By late 2009, Alexandra Legouix was already carving a reputation for herself as a multi-talented singer, actress, TV presenter and painter. In January 2010 she entered, and won, a contest for unsigned singers on the BBC local radio (known as BBC Introducing) for which part of the prize was a celebratory gig at a prestigious local venue … but she didn't have a band! Fortunately, she had recently met guitarist/writer/producer Martyn Ellis when they both happened to be "depping" in a covers band … so she approached him to help write some songs and put a band together. Within a few weeks Alex and Martyn had a whole set of fresh new material including "Facebook"," Lola", and "What's The Fun?" which they recorded together as their first EP during the summer.

There is much more to come from this duo and their newly-formed band, Alexandra Legouix & The Sunflowers. During summer 2010 they have played several well-known venues in and around London; their songs take on a new identity when played live by the whole band. An album is on the way soon... watch this space!
