In his first recorded release since 2012’s “Bad Passenger”, Manhattan Rob Walsh releases the first in a series of digital single offerings.

“Zombies In My Neighborhood” is a quirky, yet smooth-swinging, tongue-in-cheek narrative, that portrays Zombies as pesky garden pests.

With an infectious rhythm, and sounds that remind of 60's television, Manhattan Rob plays the role of the half-in-the-bag chronicler, who psalms about all the Zombies with “nothing to do”.

While casting the Zombies as merely a civil nuisance, Walsh employs a double-entendre that smacks of veiled social commentary. His graveled and plucky narrative, as told from the convenience store trash can, delivers a light-hearted listening experience that is able to resonate with listeners of all ages.

“There’s more and more folks out here on “Main Street” with no work, just hanging around. These days there’s too many critters roaming free on everyone’s lawns, too.
I thought it would be a good laugh to lyrically combine the two. It cracks up live audiences and it’s a fun tune for the kids, as well!”

“Zombies” is the first of a series of digital single releases for Slamtown Records. Walsh is joined in the studio by Jeff McErlain on guitars, Pemberton Roach on bass, and Giovanni Fusco on drums and keyboards. The series is being produced by Giovanni Fusco at The MixShack Studios in New Paltz, New York.

Manhattan Rob Walsh is a singer/songwriter from the hills of Northern New Jersey. For the past five years, Walsh has been garnering local accolades as a songwriter, singer and performer in North Jersey’s solo acoustic scene.

Mostly operating in a gritty Blues format, Walsh’s selections and writings are mostly attuned to a hard-rocking Blues, with original compositions that employ a populist, sometimes humorous, view of life.

“These days, I get my material from what is around me, here in a “Main Street” setting. Its natural for my material to reflect what folks around me are thinking and talking about in their lives. The stories and characters are everywhere.”

Rob Walsh’s roots go back to the 1970’s Washington Square Park set in New York, as a street singer and coffeehouse act. It was in this period where he originally earned the moniker, “Manhattan Rob”.

A witness to the beginning days of Punk, and after a stint as a post-punk side-man, Walsh stepped up to enjoy a decade run as a front man and band leader of Hi-Fi TIE, playing for large audiences in the prestige venues of New York’s 80’s club scene.

After a 25 year hiatus, Walsh returned to his music in 2010. Reactivating, his moniker from the early days, he began work on a five-year body of work that has yielded several collections of original offerings. In 2012, he released his self-performed/self-produced debut CD, “Bad Passenger”.

For the past couple of years Rob has been raiding the local open jams and performing engagements as a solo/acoustic act with occasional support of impromptu back lines.
