Biography
Laney and Bishop bring a rich heritage and deep roots in the Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside of Asheville. Both artists were raised in vibrant musical communities, with fathers who were integral parts of the local music scene. Colby Laney and Danielle Bishop, despite performing with many of the same musicians for over a decade, did not meet until the fall of 2022. Their serendipitous meeting has now blossomed into a powerful musical partnership.

Danielle Bishop is an acclaimed fiddler, having won numerous titles at prestigious events like Fiddlers Grove, the Galax Fiddlers Convention, and the Georgia Mountain State Fair. She made history as the youngest fiddler to win the Fiddler of the Festival at Fiddlers Grove and has been featured in The New York Times.

Colby Laney, with his extensive performance history, has graced the stages of the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman, and has performed across almost the entire lower 48 states before turning 25. Laney is also a celebrated songwriter, known for hits including the #1 song "Rich Man's Daughter," and has earned accolades such as IBMA Emerging Artist of the Year and Song of the Year with the group Volume Five.

The duo has been enchanting regional audiences as Laney and Bishop, performing in locations such as Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Knoxville, Asheville, and Atlanta. Their music reflects their shared roots and their unique journeys, culminating in their first single release.

Interestingly, the acronym LAB for Laney and Bishop reflects their mutual love for dogs, particularly Labradors. The couple owns six Labradors, who often join them at their performances, adding a unique charm to their shows.
