Biography
Van Decker, Ph.D., currently teaches music at Imperial Valley College (El Centro, CA) and performs with “Valley Jazz” and “Standing Room Only” in the Imperial Valley. He holds both a Masters Degree(CSULB)
and a Doctorate (UCSD) in music composition. Over the years his compositions have been performed by many different ensembles including: The Lansing Symphony Orchestra, The CSULB Steel Drum Ensemble, The CSULB Master Chorale and The UCSD Concert Band. What's more, his songs and guitar playing can be heard in two films: "Fear Dot Com" and "Parasomnia". Born in Michigan, Decker began as the lead guitarist for "The Plagues" and shortly after, he formed Michigan's own, "Plain Brown Wrapper".
