"Cutesy Kay" is a story song that every parent can relate to. A final check of the toys beneath the tree reveals a problem. It could be assembly, missing parts, or in this case a very elusive "Not Included." This is the story of a frantic all night attempt to set things right!
I actually recorded this album of Christmas songs in 1975 and it's been part of the Christmas traditions of family and friends for over 3 decades. After yearly urging to "do something with it", it's finally been digitally remastered and placed here on Airplay Direct so that you nifty radio guys can help share it with the rest of the world. I hope it becomes part of the traditions of many others! The album has a wide variety of styles, both vocal and instrumental, and includes the vocals of Ralph Harrison and Craig Donaldson, plus the great steel guitar work of Ronnie Miller, Charlie Pride's noted sideman. It was recorded at Summit Studios in Denver, Colorado and engineered by Preston Smith.
Dean spent many years in commercial music production, writing and producing songs and jingles for clients across the country as a producer with Ralph Harrison's "Great American Music Machine"(GRAM). He also played for 17 years in "the pit" in musical theater in the Denver area as well as doing freelance production work.
He's done work for Ford, Coors, IBM, The US Army, Time Magazine and hundreds of smaller companies.
