Biography
Wes Wammer started his first band in Fresno ,California – ‘Wes Wammer and Texas Gold’ in 1986. They toured extensively in Southern California and the West coast. Two of his songs were chosen for a movie called “Line of Fire” in 1988. Wes re-located to Nashville 1989 and toured opening shows for Johnny Rodriguez.
Wes Wammer’s well-known admiration for Waylon Jennings led engineer Brooks Watson to encourage Wes to record “Waylons At The Gate” at Clementvision. The opportunity to record this song at the legendary Cowboy Arms Hotel and Recording Spa seemed fitting. Immediately after that session a fire completely destroyed the studio. The hard drive containing this recording was incredibly found intact in the ashes.
The rough edged vocals and eclectic group of performers eerily reminds fans of Waylon Jennings vocals and rockabilly style. As if Waylon is waiting at the gate to lend a few riffs or good ol’ boys to the group, the single “Waylons at the Gate” represents the memory, contributions and the legacy of the great country music legend Waylon Jennings.
Wes’s recording of “Waylons At The Gate” has reignited his passion for music. Wes intends to continue recording and is planning a CD release in the very near future.
