Biography
In 1966, four teenage boys with a dream, got together and formed a band that would influence the Monroe County and East Tennessee music scene for years to come. The Surfers had arrived! As Mary Hendershot once wrote, “They couldn’t have known it at the time, but the band was launching a musical career which would dominate the cultural life of teenagers in a four county area for the next several years." It didn't take long before The Surfers became a certifiable movement in an age of movements! In 1969, Nashville music judges deemed The Surfers one of the top three teen bands in the state of Tennessee.
These four guys, Jim Samples, Bob Moser, Mike Anderson and John Byrum are still rocking the stage with 60’s Rock & Roll!!
Let the goodtimes roll!
