Biography
Janis & Kristine are two sisters born and raised in Southern California. Singing together since they were little girls, they performed at school events, and talent shows, and upon reaching their teen years, took the name Sweethearts of the Rodeo from the Byrds album bearing the same name.
Janis moved to Nashville in 1983 with her then-husband Vince Gill, and soon sent for her sister, Kristine. The two went on to record for Columbia Records, immediately scoring seven back-to-back top ten singles.
Songs like "Hey Boll Baby", and "Midnight Girl/Sunset Town" set the pace early on, and they never looked back.
After several years spent on the road, Janis & Kristine decided to take some time off and give their full attention to family matters.
After a hiatus of 16 years, the girls are back with "RESTLESS". a killer collection of energetic 70s style country rock, steeped in the sibling harmony they are so well known for. With a top notch band backing them, they wrangle songs like the title cut, as well as the fast paced "Gone To Kentucky". The California/Eagles sound is apparent on the lovely "Hopeless Rose", a gem of a song penned by Jon Randall, Jessie Alexander, Sally Barris, and Ashley Monroe.
The set ends beautifully with Jessie Collin Young's peace anthem, "Get Together"
