Biography
Sharon Musgrave was the lead singer and songwriter of William Orbit’s (Grammy Winner, Madonna’s "Ray of Light") project “Bass-o-matic,” which shot to prominence in the 90's. They achieved international status with the hit "Fascinating Rhythm" on Virgin.
Following that tour, Sharon was invited by WEA to work with jazz pianist Julian Joseph. She collaborated on the "Language of Truth" album singing on his 1st single,"The Other Side of Town".
Her Canadian self produced solo release in 2001, "Selah" on her label Zosar Music earned her two nominations, "Best Songwriter" and "Best Spoken Word", at the UMAC Awards in Toronto. The video for this track achieved top twenty status on the Bravo video chart.
An international dance release "Nobody," in 2004, was included on the Album "Soulfragettes", on Recoup/Timewarp. Sharon’s track was singled out and was included on aIbiza Lounge 3, which also included Norah Jones, Simply Red, and Cold Play.
In 2009 "Fantasy," was released on British producer Steve Miller’s “Afterlife”album entitled Electrosensitive. She co-wrote and performed this soul-psychedelic dance track released on Defected records and Bar Grooves. There’s also cool re-mixes by Hideo Kobayashi for Apt. International
Long overdue, her new Album release is due November 27th 2010. Adding a more commercial appeal to her eclectic sound, she now embarks on a new musical journey, a fusion of pop, jazz, R&B, which accompany’s her beautiful tone, with sound creativity that can be played for years to come.
