One hot evening in August of 2021, a fun jam turned into a full-blown journey into music creation and adventure that six friends never imagined possible. Retro 78 was born and found to be a super energetic, incredibly skilled collaboration of artists that write, arrange and perform their own unique style of modern & traditional bluegrass, gospel, and country music. Retro 78 seeks to develop its sound with that classic bluegrass music feel from the 70s and 80s and bring a high-energy experience to its audience. The band is made up of powerhouse vocals and experienced musicianship.

Retro 78 took the first-place trophy home at the acclaimed SPBGMA International Band Competition in 2022, among a pool of tough competitors.

Now with a full team behind them, as they recently signed with Ram Cat Records and Wilson Pickins Promotions, they are releasing their first recording, engineered and produced by Alan Bibey and mixed and mastered by Steve Wilson for Ram Cat Records. The recording is a 5 song self-titled EP including 4 original songs and 1 cover. They will be back in the studio early this Spring to begin their first full-length project for Ram Cat Cat Records.

Retro 78 leaves nothing on the table. Their performances are top-notch, and exciting, a band that the audience will want to see again and again.
