BRANDON LEE ADAMS RELEASES LIVE RECORDING “I LONG FOR SEVENTEEN” FEATURING LEGENDARY TONY RICE
Americana, bluegrass and folk singer-songwriter and guitarist Brandon Lee Adams releases “I Long for Seventeen (Master Radio Edit),” an original song captured live with the late, legendary guitarist Tony Rice in an intimate performance built around two acoustic guitars and one vocal.
Newly remastered and prepared as the “Master Radio Edit,” the recording captures far more than a remarkable musical performance. It preserves a powerful musical relationship, a lifelong dream and a deeply personal connection between Adams and one of American music’s most influential acoustic guitarists.
Tony Rice was not simply a guest on the recording. He was a personal mentor to Adams, encouraging his songwriting, singing and continued development of his own musical voice. “I Long for Seventeen” captures that relationship in its most direct and authentic form: two musicians sitting together and playing the song.

There is no full-band arrangement surrounding the performance and no elaborate production separating the musicians from one another. Adams and Rice performed together using two instrument microphones and one vocal microphone, allowing the natural interplay between their voices, guitars and musical instincts to remain at the center of the recording.
The stripped-down approach creates an unusually intimate listening experience. Rather than hearing a heavily produced studio interpretation, listeners hear the songwriting, acoustic guitar work and musical connection between two generations of roots musicians as it happened in the room.
For Adams, the recording represents the fulfillment of a lifelong musical dream and a lasting testament to the mentorship and friendship he shared with Rice. For listeners, it offers a rare opportunity to hear Tony Rice in an intimate setting while experiencing the genuine musical connection between Rice and Adams.
I Long for Seventeen (Master Radio Edit) gives listeners the opportunity to experience Brandon Lee Adams and Tony Rice exactly where their musical relationship mattered most: together, playing the song.
