LABEL 51 RECORDINGS UNLEASHES THE HORROR! VOL. 1 WITH DEEP BLUE SOMETHING, RAIN PARADE & MORE
Label 51 Recordings is thrilled to present The Horror! Vol. 1, a modern take on the classic Halloween records of yore.
"Our team was very excited to put a classic Halloween compilation together," says head of Label 51 Recordings, Andy Zicklin. "We hope that the folks out there get the vibe we were going for."
The collection gathers eleven artists from across alternative, psych, Americana, and beyond for a single haunted evening of listening, built to scare the neighbors off the lawn and keep the party going long after the candy runs out.

THE HORROR! VOL. 1
Featuring Deep Blue Something, Rain Parade, Prairie Prince,
Rick Springfield's Morris *Springfield Project and More!
Rock / Americana / Indie

The album opens with Triptides' groovy reading of the classic "Spooky," its first appearance on physical media, before Mojave Phone Booth creep in with a remix of "Grave Dirt." Deep Blue Something makes a morbid debut with the previously unreleased "Who Put Bella In The Witch Elm?", a song drawn from a true and still unsolved mystery. Night Crickets and Paisley Underground icons Rain Parade follow with "Don't Be Afraid" and "Got The Fear."
Legendary drummer Prairie Prince, of The Tubes and Todd Rundgren fame, contributes a special edit of "Black Horror" created exclusively for the compilation. Gemini Thieves conjure "Abra Cadaver," the Ruby Friedman Orchestra comes calling with "When The Hangman...", and Rick Springfield's Morris. The Springfield Project delivers the previously unreleased Godforsaken World. Ravens Moreland ride 1 "Hell's Rails" into the final stretch, and the theremin and chamber ensemble Divine Hand Ensemble closes the record with an eerily soothing "Phantom of the Opera.”
