Biography
Born in the suburbs of Philadelphia in 2001, Zelazowa’s blend of intense and dynamic alternative rock fuses raw, punk-laden energy with towering vocal lines and poetically provocative lyrics.

As champions of the “do it yourself” work ethic, Zelazowa (Bryan – vocals/guitar, Ian – vocals/bass, Kyle - guitar, and Terry – drums/vocals) independently released its debut album, "Rest Easy" in February 2005, and within one year’s time matured from a local buzz band into a self-sufficient national entity. After playing a number of festivals and conferences throughout the northeast region, Zelazowa embarked on their first east coast and mid-west tour in January 2006.

On the strength of the band's self booking and promotions, this first tour quickly grew from a 30 day/30 city stint into a permanent venture, amassing pockets of new Zelazowa fans across the country and providing the band an unprecedented 220 show U.S. tour schedule for 2006. “Rest Easy,” which has since received radio airplay on approximately 200 commercial and college stations coast to coast, collected rave reviews in some of the nation’s top periodicals, and continues to get press as the band’s tour radius expands overseas.

Zelazowa's live show has invoked similar acclaim, winning the band opening slots for Jimmy Chamberlin Complex (Smashing Pumpkins), The Queers, and Year Long Disaster, and earning Zelazowa the promotional support of Sam Ash Music, Origivation Magazine, and Bastard on Wheels clothing line. In fact, Ship King Media LLC in Pittsburgh, PA, chose Zelazowa as the subject of their 2007 documentary, “What You Want Us to Be, We Can’t Always Be,” a film chronicling the life of an unsigned, independently touring American rock band.

In September 2006, after nine months of U.S. touring, Zelazowa returned to the studio to record a four track EP called “Polymorph,” with Grammy winning producer John Seymour. Representing the culmination and success of the band’s ambitious 2006 tour, “Polymorph” not only captured the intensity of the group’s energetic live show, but also foreshadowed amazing things to come. Within the next year, Zelazowa embarked on both U.S. and European tours, released an independent music video for their single “1,000 Smiles,” and was featured in issues of Skope and Shinbone Magazines.

Like their ever-restless tour schedule, 2008 also presents exciting new projects and plans for the group. Following the success of the band’s 2007 jaunt, the New Year will bring a return to Europe, the release of Ship King Media’s long anticipated Zelazowa documentary, and a new record. Most importantly though, wherever their travels may take them and whatever successes they may encounter, Zelazowa will continue to deliver great songs and performances to people all over the world, maintaining their status as one of the hardest working independent acts today.
