Honoring the Legend "The Voice of Country Music"
An unsung hero, pioneer singer/songwriter known to his fans and peers simply as 'The Voice of Country Music', Vern Gosdin. During his career he gave country music fans everywhere 40 years of great classic country and gospel music. Every note and lyric thought out with deep passion and delivered by a voice that could sink straight down to your
bones. With 41 singles, 23 top 10's and 3 #1's, he was inducted into the Alabama Country and Gospel Music Association for Best Album,"Back in the Swing of Things" and Lifetime Achievement Awards. Also, in 2005 Inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Other awards include Music Publishers Hall of Fame, 1998 for Hookit, 10 Ascap song awards, Ascap #1 club, and voted 'Best New Artist of the Year' in 1983 by Billboard Country Awards.
Gosdin shared the spotlight all through the 80s with good friends George Jones and Merle Haggard and was crowned with the industry's top awards for hits like 'Set 'em up Joe' (1988 CMA #1 Song) and 'Chiseled in Stone' (1989 CMA song of the year). His songs have been recorded by many country music greats including Brad Paisley's 'Is it Raining at Your House' and George Strait's 'Today my World Slipped Away' (1987 CMA Song of the Year).
