Biography
Vacant House Band - a foursome from North Georgia - evolved out of the songwriting skills of lead singer and guitarist Chris Bradshaw. The band formed in early 2011 as a result of a Chris' New Year's Resolution, "I always wanted to play music that makes people get up and dance". Soon after, he started writing songs in what he terms "rock-a-hillbilly" style. Chris found bass player and back up vocalist Jim Horton through a musician internet site, violinist and back up vocalist Sheryl McDonald through an ad on craigslist, and drummer Scott Masters through a posting on a cork board in the Ken Stanton store in Woodstock GA. Chris lives with his wife, a four year old and a one year old, which not the best environment for songwriting. Chris' dad, a builder with several houses for sale, offered one of the vacant houses as a place to work on his music. As the band formed, auditions were held in the vacant house then rehearsals scheduled, and the Vacant House Band was formed. Vacant House Band has recorded a five song demo and is planning to record a full length CD soon.
