Biography
Nearly two years after his groundbreaking debut Now That She Is Gone, The Firegod has returned!  Aided by longtime producer Jesse Everett, The Firegod is joined by Seattle scene veteran Dave Noren and DJ Crystal Slate for a sophomore effort sure to grow his rabid cult following.
Fever brings ten more touching tracks of life, loss, and love, yet with an increasing musical sophistication evident from the very first track.  The epinonimous opener is unlike anything The Firegod has done before, from its funky, deep bass groove to the virtuoso vocal performance by the veteran vocalist Noren.  Experimental collaboration Again provides further proof of The Firegods willingness to push the boundaries of the singer/songwriter.  His gentle acoustic guitar interweaves with DJ Slate's beats and synths to create a uniquely lush mix.  This is not to say The Firegod has abandoned his roots.  Between You and Paradise and One of These Days rock as hard as anything he has ever done, and gentle ballad 6 Month Love Affair proves once again what a talented artist can do with nothing but a mic, an acoustic guitar, and some heartfelt lyrics.
Lyrics are, after all, the foundation of The Firegods music.  While musically Fever is superior to its predecessor, it would all be meaningless if The Firegod were to lapse in his songwriting.  Fortunately, his standards are as high as ever, blessing his listeners with some truly beautiful music.  Fingerprints, Because of You, and the aforementioned 6 Month Love Affair weave a vibrant tapestry of love and yearning, while Times Like These defines love gone horribly wrong.  So There vacillitates between love and jealousy, while gently epic closer A Thousand Times leaves The Firegod in the same place he was at the end of Now That She Is Gone...sitting on a cold Seattle curbside, alone with his memories.
