Biography
The daughter of a baby-boomer painter and Italian/Slovak immigrant, Rachele (pronounced ra-kelly) grew up a studio rat in Decatur, GA. Working for free cleaning out the cupboards at famed Atlanta acoustic hotspot Eddie's Attic, she met countless musicians and writers and fell into bands as a side-player before she even knew how to write a song.
“Sweet Man of Mine” features bandmate Nicholas Ryan’s impressive guitar work and Rachele’s expressive croon, spilling out all dazed and lighthearted over the sound of the band. The song swings with production from the talented Spencer Garn (Ruby Velle & the Soulphonics), who recorded the track at Diamond Street Studios in Atlanta—the namesake of Rachele’s debut LP Diamond Street—before handing it off to Rachele's trusted collaborator and engineer Kristofer Sampson for mixing.
On the B-side of this new release is the simple, stripped-down folk number “When the Fire Goes Out Tonight.” The song is a one-track bedroom-recorded treatise on trust and wintertime love—an introspective understatement of flaws and forgiveness.
