Biography
Rob is a Folk/Americana Artist based in North Carolina.

Music of a hundred years ago, from yesterday or today - whenever you place them, the songs of Rob McHale should be taught in school, because they reflect vibrant history, the value of tradition and living social comment. This North Carolina-based poet, musician and composer writes folk Americana songs that walk you through their narratives in an entirely involving way. They bring home the wealth of heritage and place it firmly in the present, they observe the days we live in and offer valuable meaning. Tom Franks - Folk Words Magazine, Heronsgate ( London ), England

"Real and mature, reflective and sincere, this is music for the spirit and a really excellent release". (Fields)
Stephen Rapid
Lonesome Highway Magazine

"With this irristibly harmonious music this disc is certainly one of the highlights of this genre in 2014".
Wolgang Geise
Rocktimes
Frankfurt, Germany

"He has released an excellent record again, jam packed with songs with one eye on what is and what is to come, and the other to what is already over. Particularly warm blooded songs delivered with an equally hot blooded voice".

“A socially conscious writer with intelligent lyrics” (Randy Walker, WSGE-FM, Dallas, NC).

”Fields , McHale’s sophomore release, has a more produced yet
personal feel to it. Laden with social commentary with historical
overtones, Fields is about things we have lost and things we
have found, a brush with history, home and family. The CD takes
you through the Civil War without choosing sides. It let’s you reflect
on the past through an honest and open window. Also included
among its ten tracks are a brief foray into Irish history and
reflective songs that focus on chances, family and the
environment – with good wishes to close out the disc.

The first song on 'Fields' is about General George Custer's Last Stand at the Little Big Horn in Montana. Ranger, Historian, Author Michael Donahue, The Little Big Horn Battlefield National Monument,Crowe Agency, Montana, says " This [ Surrounded Again ] is the best song I have heard about Custer, and I have heard them all"

In addition to general performances McHale hosts the legacy monthly event The Summit Coffee Songwriters Showcase, featuring talented local, regional, and touring artists, now in it's 6th year.

2nd Place in the Woody Guthrie Song Contest 2015
