Col Robertson Bio.

I immigrated to Australia back in 1982 with my husband and spent 19 years living in Sydney – still playing my guitar and singing for my own enjoyment, or for anyone who wanted to listen! We moved to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland during 2001 where we now enjoy a wonderful care-free life style. It wasn't until Al and his family moved out to Australia in 2002 that the opportunity arose for both of us to join together (as brother & sister) and launch FACE TO FACE (a duo), we launched our first CD a couple of years later “We Are One”, consisting of all original music which we did spend a lot of time promoting around our local area. We then changed our name to PEACE OF MIND as we had now become a group of three musicians with Peter Orr on board playing amazing guitar - then followed through with a second CD in 2009 “Winds of Change” – dedicated to our loving Mum “Gwendy”, who was always there to encourage our every step of the way along with our very supportive families also.

It's a very special thing, to be able to spend an entire day at times doing something you really love and this song certainly provided us with that opportunity, between adding new harmonies and finding those special Christmas sounds became a challenge that took on an entire different dimension and we loved every minute of it. Any worries we may have had were gone within moments of stepping into the recording studio, how fortunate we are to have been blessed with the gift of music.

“Spare a Thought This Christmas” is something very different for us being a Christmas Song, I hope this single will put a smile on people’s faces and also inspire them to reflect for just a few moments as to what is happening around the world today and perhaps “light a candle to show you care”! When Al wrote this piece of music and gave it to me – I was completely uncertain as to what to do with it until we knew we were on a deadline of December to complete the song and that’s when the idea of making it into a Christmas song came about, please enjoy listening to “Spare a Thought This Christmas”, dedicated to families in despair - all around the world.
