Biography
Former members of Race to Olvido found themselves in a rut of lost motivation and a frustrating lack of the ability to express themselves anymore. Vocalist Ed Stengel debated on quitting music for good until they discovered the folk revival going on in the Americana and London folk scenes. Suddenly music not only made sense again, but it had a depth previous unheard of in mainstream music. They had finally found a sound that could reach people hearts and teach them about themselves. With this they headed into the studio to try and flesh out this idea of helping to heal the people of the world who can't find hope. They put all the pain and joy of their lives into these acoustic demo tracks and found that people indeed could relate to how they were feelings. Those demos became "Letters to Lucy" a bare acoustic folk record chronicling tragedy and hope in life. With the LP of that name coming out in November, they will be heading back into the studio to make an EP with a richer folk sound with banjos, mandolins, and percussion.
