Mike Check
Biography
Mike Check is not just a stage name. It’s his real name. Mike Check was born with his head boppin. Picking up the drum sticks at the early age of 7 would help him learn of life with rhythm. Clangin on the drums as a youngin, Check was drawn to the hip-hop sound that his heart now beats to.

After substituting the drumstick with a pen, Check crafted himself into a powerful lyricist with uncanny wordplay and emotion inducing topics. His solo debut mixtape “Check Me Out,” gained amazing notoriety within the tri-state, and his outside the box performances have wowed crowds with explosive energy.

Mike Check’s buzz was intensified after show stopping performances at Def Jam’s Unsigned Hype at the Sugar Bar in Manhattan, The Downtown Club in Farmingdale, and DJ Cadet’s parties at Club Rhone in Manhattan. Check’s mixtape debut appearance on DJ Storm’s “Heatseekers,” solidified his buzz on the streets and catapulted him into a list of up and coming artists on the East Coast.

After weaving through a most complex industry and igniting his career independently, Check jump started The Kinetic Music Group (TKMG), a business aimed at helping other independent artists navigate today’s music industry.

Check is now climbing higher than ever, rocking shows and receiving airplay for his latest singles. A much anticipated 2010 album release, “Personal Check,” is slated for the 4th quarter, with production ranging from Matty Ells of Lay’d Back Ent., Sean Glass of Thurotype Productions, and Mike Check himself.

What comes next is to be seen, but the talk around town is that you can expect an explosion from his upcoming projects in 2010. Collaborations are already in the works with a plethora of artists and producers from around the tri-state area. Stay tuned!
