Biography
mCcormick is Steve McCormick, a singer/songwriter hailing from the northeast of England.
Originally a guitarist and songwriter for a series of bands, that toured the United Kingdom, Ireland, parts of Europe and Africa.
In 2009 he turned solo, and in Spring 2010 released his debut album When Butterflies Attack! , which he recorded with award winning producer Mike Frankland.
The album received excellent reviews in several music magazines.
His music has been compared to Crowded House, Aztec Camera and an upbeat Snow Patrol, consisting of great melodies and strong catchy choruses.
Steve remains a regular on the live circuit. His acoustic solo performances have earned him equally high praise and demonstrate his exceptional song writing skills whilst displaying a vibrant and raw energy.

2012 sees the release of the single Goosebumps and a much anticipated second album on the way, and the signing of a publishing deal with an American company in April 2012.
2012 should prove a triumphant year for mCcormick .

Goosebumps (self release)
McCormick is, fact fans, Steve McCormick from Middlesbrough, who’s a chap who’s very adept at penning hook-laden melodies of which this is a case in point. It’s all very traditional and stands and falls on the strength of its tune, and this is a right little toe-tapper. DP

Album Review When Butterflies attack! The Crack magazine

Middlesbrough based mCcormick is the real deal. Well he is if the "deal" happens to be supremely toe tapping pop music which has plenty of hooks and melodies as big as the Transporter Bridge. Sometimes a quality tune is all that is required. The Crack. May 2010 ”

Relentlessly upbeat good time summer stuff. May 2010

Live review supporting Jonny @ The Westgarth by The Northern Line
Steve is one man and his guitar with all the energy and enthusiasm of a complete band, singing songs from his new album ‘When Butterflies Attack’. He’s got some up-beat, catchy melodies and lyrics. Reminiscent of Del Amitri, with a Middlesbrough twang, it’s that kind of feel good music that you’d listen to on a summertime ‘ice-cream drive’ to Great Ayton.
