Biography
The Music of Lior Navok (b. 1971) was played worldwide by orchestras and ensembles such as the Sydney Opera House, Frankfurt Opera, Radio Philharmonie Hannover NDR, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Bogota Philharmonic, Omaha Symphony, soloists of the Bamberg Symphony, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, The Cantata Singers (Boston) Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra, Das Georgische Kammerorchester, The Borromeo String Quartet, Raschèr Saxophone Quartet in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, Paris’s Salle Cortot, among many others.
Described by the Boston Globe as “colorful, haunting, accomplished and exciting”, Navok’s music receives numerous awards and commissions such as the Koussevitzky Music Foundation, Fromm Music Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, Jerome Foundation, Morasha Foundation, Lili Boulanger Memorial Fund Award, Prime Minster Award [twice] (Israel), Massachusetts Cultural Council, and America-Israel Cultural Foundation. Fellowships and residencies include the Tanglewood Music Center, Cité Internationale des Arts, Aspen Music Festival and the MacDowell Colony.
