Lazy Sunday by Crandall Creek feat Greg Blake
  • Lazy Sunday
Biography
Forget the world outside and listen to two of the most dynamic voices in bluegrass music, Greg Blake (2023 IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year) and Crandall Creek's lead vocalist, Carly Greer, blending harmoniously on the new single, "Lazy Sunday." The heartwarming song is now available to radio programmers from Copper Mountain Records.

"Lazy Sunday" also features the talents of Crandall Creek members Dustin Terpenning on banjo and Jerry Andrews on guitar, who also penned the song. Guest musicians include Andy Leftwich on guitar, mandolin, and fiddle and Darrin Vincent on bass. Jamie Peck produced the song.

"I ran into fellow West Virginian, Jerry Andrews, at IBMA World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, North Carolina a few years back and we became fast friends," said Greg Blake. "Over this time, I've watched and listened, and I'm really impressed with Jerry's songwriting and the growth of his band through its various iterations. When I heard their current lead vocalist, Carly Greer, I heard a quality in her tone and an ability to deliver a lyrical phrase that really resonated with me. So, I called up Jerry and asked if he wanted to do something together and he wrote a great song that gives Carly and I a chance to collaborate. I hope the fans enjoy it!"

Jerry Andrews said, "Sunday is a special day. It's a day of worship and a day of rest. When Greg Blake asked me about recording a song with us, he also asked if I would write it and I told him I would be happy to do so. It was a Sunday and it just seemed like such an easy day after service, I just thought about all the things we do on Sunday, which is traditionally a day of rest. It’s ‘just a lazy Sunday’ and that's how the song was born."

"Lazy Sunday" is set for digital release on March 22, along with an accompanying music video featuring Greg Blake and Carly Greer. The video was filmed at Jerry Andrews' cabin in Moundsville, West Virginia by Bruce Winges, and edited by Hope River Entertainment.
