Biography
Kevin Renick wrote and recorded the theme song to the Oscar-nominated Jason Reitman film UP IN THE AIR, starring George Clooney. He is a lifelong music fan who grew up listening to classic rock, film scores and the singer/songwriters of the 60s and 70s, as well as the more experimental new wave and electronica that followed. A native St. Louisan, Renick has always dreamed of writing evocative, intimate songs that fans would identify with as they journeyed through their lives. He is often compared to his idol, Neil Young, whom he sounds uncannily like at times. Renick has self-released four CDs, and performs regular shows in the Midwest. His nostalgic song "Goodbye Typewriter" has become an Official music video directed by Wolfgang Lehmkuhl. And the anthemic "Figure Out" was recently awarded January 2016's "Song of the Month" by the Akademia Music Awards. Renick is continuously found in the top 10 songwriters on both ReverbNation and on Number1Music.com. A new album is due in Spring 2016.
