Biography
kLoB is a soul band formed by Kip Kolb. With a powerful outlook on songwriting and performance, they are rapidly winning over audiences in diverse markets. From Florida to New York City, this band is leaving a trail of life-long fans in its wake.

Their latest tour (Feb. 2009) to the North included dates in Athens, GA, Asheville, NC, Philadelphia, PA, NYC and Charleston, SC.

Animated vocals blend genres - catchy and entertaining while still saying something worthwhile. The lyrics flow with a coy sort of witticism. A tongue and cheek transfer of life experience that relates to the daily grind on planet Earth.

kLoB's latest release, speed dial: LOVE, embodies a time when albums were written as an entire work,
rather than a sonic check-list of projected hits - not necessarily a concept album, but cohesive with it's ebb and flow, every ending leading with relevance to every beginning. With 'speed dial,' kLoB sets off for a comfortable departure from the “a.d.d.” mindset of late. Only three of the twelve tracks clock in under five minutes, yet they stay close to the
fundamental song structures, avoiding jam band style improvisation. These are timeless songs
that play at their own pace, songs that feel good and can make you say, "man, I know what he's talking about." They capture a truly organic sound; no drum loops, click tracks or fancy editing. The basic tracks of these songs were recorded live in the studio, and it shows.

kLoB was a finalist in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) for the song 'All the Time.' They made it through a 15,000-song ocean of submissions, receiving Honorable Mention.

kLoB was invited to perform at the Palatka Blue Crab Festival this year, and took the festival by surprise, earning an unprecedented STANDING OVATION from the packed-to-capacity mainstage crowd!!

Last November, kLoB performed via invitation at Talleyrand Music and Arts Festival in Jacksonville, FL,
sharing the bill with Perpetual Groove, Keller Williams’ WMD's, Arrested Development, Pepper, Against Me!, the Polyphonic Spree and more... Their performance had the highest turnout for an unsigned band at the festival. The crowd was ecstatic, swarming the side of the stage after their all too short, but powerful set.

kLoB also played to a packed house this April in Greenwich Village, NYC at renowned listening room, Cornelia Street Cafe. The response was overwhelmingly positive, earning the band compliments and accolades from the audience of music aficionados!

Kip Kolb is kLoB. He sings, plays keys and other things, and delivers the message. Theater degree from FSU, seasoned traveler, carpenter, athlete, relatively cute, and semi sick with the human race. Lucky enough to make sounds with George Clinton and P-Funk, Chaka Kahn, and Grover Washington Jr. Born and raised in Philly, lived and partied in all 4 corners of the country. Alive. Electric. Pay attention.

Brian Jenkins plays the drums, and sings backing vocals. He’s a drum set tutor and mentor. Won 1st place in the North Florida Blues Competition, twice. Played via invitation in Nantes, France Jazz/World Music Festival, les Rendezvous de l'Edre in 2000, and was co score writer for Cocaine Angel, which won Best Music Award at the Digital Film Festival in Barcelona, Spain in 2007.

Louie LeClaire plays the bass. And the guitar. He teaches both. He’s a songwriter, and stepped up to start playing shows with kLoB just two weeks after joining the band. His low end tenacity has taken him with Mr. Jenkins
to "les Rendevous de l’Edre" in France as well.. Together, LeClaire and Jenkins are a rhythm section that flows and morphs between some oozing, gelatinous funk and a rock solid ocean bottom connected to
the fiery hot center of Mother Earth. They make kLoB sound good, real good.

Mike Kiramarios plays sax. He's Greek, skinny, and an unbelievable bartender. He's the guy who charms the hell out of you and your girl at dinner, gets you both buzzed quick, and then after hours when you're still out bar hoppin,' you run back into him at some late night club and he's blowin' up some jazz scene killin' that damn horn and still charmin' your girl. How is that possible? How is he still awake and still that good?

Mike Bowman plays guitar, percussion and sings back-up vocals. He teaches high school. The sounds flow through him like the springs in Florida where he comes from. He was a wide receiver drafted by the Green Bay Packers. Yeah, Mikey jumps out of the building, so pick a sport. Although injury knocked him out of pro football, he was finally
picked up by kLoB late in the 2006 season, and continues to shine brighter with every note.
...
The songs, and the stories that are in them, are contagious. They stay with you. They keep you thinking and feeling. kLob wakes you up, keeps your boss at bay, and then rocks you to sleep at night. And if you are the boss, and you know kLoB, well then your people are happy.
