Biography
James Wesley Haymer

Take 2 parts Dylan, one part Harrison, one part Knopfler, throw in a little Petty and Young and you have James Wesley Haymer. On his debut CD "See You Around" released in 1998 The album received much critical acclaim which open a few doors. On his second CD, "Field Recordings" (1995) Eddie Russell from WCNET radio said, "I thoroughly enjoyed your pure rootsy album where everything holds together with staggering magnitude". His third release "Boomtown" in 1996 did well in the overseas market and various internet radio stations played the title track, "Boomtown" and the Knopfleresque ballad "One of These Days". Mike Penard from ISA radio says"It picks right up where "Field Recordings" leaves off with a little more eclectic blend of Americana and gold old rock and roll.

James , son of character actor, Johnny Haymer ( Annie Hall, M*A*S*H*) was born in New York and four days after his Bar Mitzvah his family rounded up the 3 kids and moved to California where his dad could work in TV. "I used to think you drove in the Holland tunnel and came out the Golden Gate bridge" James says, "until I moved to Nashville in 1994, I had no idea there was anything in between".

Early on in his career James co-founded “Silverspoon” working with Mal Evans, producer of the band “Badfinger” not to mention former road manager for the Beatles! Silverspoon was featured on the “Helter Skelter” soundtrack, and played on Keith Moon’s solo album entitled, “Two Sides of the Moon”. After Silverspoon broke up, James joined the local LA group “The Knack” as a replacement keyboardist. Later he and Blair Aaronson formed “Two Guys from Van Nuys”, a Dylanesque duo who were regulars at the Bla Bla Cafe in Studio City which lead to Mike Love (Beach Boys) recording a Haymer-Aaronson tune called “Running Around the World”.
Other artist including Dave Mason, Paul Downing and Maria Vidal have recorded James' tunes has co-written with many local Nashville artists. James just released his 4th solo CD, "Timing Is Everything" on May 24th 2010. His new CD plus all of his previous releases can be found at www.jameswesleyhaymer.com
