Biography
James Scott Bullard is a consummate, yet wildly energetic showman, who's songs are real life reflections that range from the rowdiness of a full on saloon brawl, to feeling like the melancholy comfort of a black and white movie. Always lyrically bittersweet; It is effortless poetic bare-knuckle blues, common-man country, and middle finger roots rock & roll, all rolled into one long, tall package.

Hailing from South Carolina, Bullard’s past is fraught with love, loss, death, addiction, human suffering, torrid tales of flirting with the devil, the wrath of deep-south religion, a constant walk on a moral tightrope and more southern-gothic lore than a Tennessee Williams play.

Bullard plays multiple instruments, has collected a mass amount of glowing critical reviews and had much written about his prolific songwriting and troubled past. He has won several awards for his efforts; including three Torch Awards from New Jersey’s WDVR FM for: Artist of the Year, Alternative Country Album of the Year and the coveted Gram Parsons Cosmic American Legacy Award. In Mid 2011 Bullard held the #1 spot on the S.C. Roots Radio Airplay Charts for 3 weeks, and peaked at #40 in the U.S. top 50.

Bullard has traveled far and wide, slept in lots of motels and even on a few pool tables and played on countless stages across the U.S. He has also been included in several tributes to the late Gram Parsons as well as the late Townes Van Zandt and continues to carry the torch on Internet, satellite and good old-fashioned radio stations all over the globe wherever Americana music is appreciated.
