Biography
BIO
Genre Jazz is a brand new Jazz Band, which features a plethora of musical genres, from newly composed smooth Jazz, Jazz waltz, and Indie-Reggae creations to popular covers, all of which inspired the name Genre. Genre is currently in its first year.
The main thread of Genre’s music is that it is smooth, cool, easy listening chill out music.
The brain behind the band is Kevin Morgan aka ‘Special K’, alto saxophonist, from the East of London. Special K is a musician/Songwriter who has been writing for over 20 years and studied the saxophone and piano for 10 years. He is accompanied by Sharon Morgan.
Genre is currently working on an album called Black & Blue, which is soon to be launched. It is a very exciting project and will be filled with many pleasant surprises.
Genre Jazz released their new debut single on 1 September 2011, entitled ‘Monday Morning Melody’. This song really does warm the soul as its sounds of nature imagines a sunrise, awakening a freshness with renewed vigour, which would otherwise be absent on a Monday morning, where the weekend excitement ends and the working week begins. It is a musical pill that gets you through those Monday morning blues. Its smooth, melodic but upbeat sound induces relaxation, the ‘feel Good Factor’ as it takes you on its journey. The clever use of displaced scales on the solo parts of the song, invoke the feeling of a new day.
Monday Morning Melody will be available on iTunes, Amazon and many other popular music download sites.

Enjoy!
