With an Australian Label behind them and an ever increasing Australian fan base, UK based London 5-piece Rock band FYREFLY came together to explore and merge their musical differences and excite audiences with their incredible live performances and are due to come to Australia in the spring of 2008 to show case their eclectic retro style rock…..

Taking the core of their influences like the powerful riffs of Led Zeppelin, the lyrical genius of David Bowie, the rhythmic power of the Small Faces, while fusing tribal and ethnic riffs and rhythms with contemporary vocals and production techniques: and you have FYREFLY….

These incredible diverse tastes and influences have produced an eclectic mix of riffy, catchy, beautiful, powerful and soulful songs that take you on an emotional journey through the joys and despair of life, love, passion and heartache...... constantly reminding you of old skool Rock riffs and the likes of Led Zeppelin III – After years of hard graft performing and perfecting their song writing and energetic shows, the fruits of their labours produced their debut album – Boho Sheep… Exploring the ways that life, love and relationships really are, their lyrics and vocal style will take you to a place that you know you don’t really want to go to….. Their incredible ability to show you how it really is, has appealed to a huge audience and their already huge fan base grows daily.

MEET THE BAND: BAND – FYREFLY

BLUE– Lead Guitar – a true legend in the making, his guitar style and technique have on many occasions been to Jimmy Page…
MICHE – Vocals – her emotive and haunting voice will cut you to the bone, compared to the likes of Janice Joplin & Tori Amos…
JIMI – ‘Drums, percussion and household objects’ – A drummer that plays with passion that hasn’t been seen since the likes of late ‘Keith Moon’….
SOOZE – Bass Guitar – The baby of the group that sits in the groove and adds that contemporary edge to an already eclectic sound.
SAM – Guitar – The perfect accompaniment to the band – with a sound to die for, he has an uncanny knack of filling those small holes with spacey guitar grooves that ooze cool.

Fyrefly are Miche (vocals), Jimi (drums), Blue (guitars), Sooz (bass) & Sam (guitars) and are based in North London, UK. They came together with incredibly diverse tastes and influences in music. Miche, Jimi & Blue have been playing together for ten years in several bands until deciding they were ready to explore and merge their musical differences.

The years of hard graft, learning their trade, some intense song-writing and several months recording have produced ‘BOHO SHEEP’ – an awesome self-penned, self-produced eclectic collection of songs that will take you on a journey through the joy and despair of life, love, passion and heartache.

At the core of their influences are Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Queen, The Small Faces & Pink Floyd but these influences are brought to a modern level with the fusion of tribal and ethnic rhythms, contemporary vocals and production techniques.

‘YOU’ opens the album with a beautiful and yet chilling statement of how love can affect you. From there you are taken through the pain of ‘EMISSARY’ to the roller-coaster ride that is ‘I DON’T KNOW.’ The ride continues into the immense ‘LIVING IN YOUR SHADOW.’

From there ‘ME OH MY’ will screw with your head while ‘PRIME DREAM’ and ‘YOU SAY’ just keep you wondering where things will go next. And here you arrive at ‘STAIN’ – an awesome 7’30” epic the scale of which has not been heard since Pink Floyd’s ‘Comfortably Numb.’

‘STAIN’ will grab you by the throat and choke you with a vocal that makes you cry and a guitar solo that will just leave you floored. ‘STAIN’ reached No 1 in the KIAC Big 50 chart in March this year – a testament to its future status as a classic.

The addition of new members Sam and Sooz has given Fyrefly the platform to take their eclectic album and release it live onto an unsuspecting audience – the reaction has been astonishing and there is no doubt that live these guys must be seen to be believed.
