Biography
Evi Tommysdottir Djurhuus, stage name Evi Tausen, was born June 24th, 1981 in the Faroe Islands. Evi has lived her entire life on the beautiful shores of the Faroe Islands which are located between Iceland and Norway in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Singer and guitarist Evi Tausen may be a newcomer to the music industry, but music has always been a part of her life. Performing mainly for family and friends, her turning point came on her wedding day. She publicly performed live for the first time, serenading her groom with a special song. Realizing her talent, he had purchased her a guitar and gave it to her on the wedding night.

She hasn’t stopped singing or playing since.

The married, stay-at-home mom of two young children was studying to be a social worker when the magic of country music invaded her soul. After practicing all day and singing her children to sleep each night, Evi released two cover songs in the Faroe Islands, “How’s The World Treating You” and “He’ll Have To Go”. Evi visited Nashville for the first time in March of 2011. Hooking up with an old friend, world renowned bluegrass singer Kathy Chiavola, Evi discovered Music City and fell in love with its charm.

Upon returning from Nashville in the spring, Evi formed a band in the Faroe Island and toured local music festivals to get a taste of music life.

Falling more in love than ever with singing county music, Evi once again returned to Nashville and recorded an album with the help of Grammy award winner Brent Mason. The end product, titled Wishing Well, is an inspiring collection of traditional sounding country songs, including a duet with Grand Ole Opry mainstay, Jim Ed Brown. The rest, as they say, is history.
