The Edgar Loudermilk Band is back with the brand new The Edgar Loudermilk Band has unveiled their latest single, "Your Shadow Still Hangs Heavy On This Mountain." This hard-driving track, characterized by its powerful melodies and compelling lyrics, will be featured on their forthcoming album from Pinecastle Records. Fans can now download and/or stream the new single on their favorite preferred digital platform HERE.

The Edgar Loudermilk Band has enjoyed a busy 2024 touring schedule, traveling coast-to-coast. However, road travel has not hindered the songwriting talents of Edgar Loudermilk collaborating with Mark “Brink” Brinkman, the co-writer of “Your Shadow Still Hangs Heavy On This Mountain.” These two accomplished songwriters have pulled together a lyrical and musical gem. With Edgar Loudermilk’s award-winning skills on the upright bass and his strong lead vocals on this new song, he is supported by Zack Autry’s harmony vocals and mandolin, Jamey Pittman’s guitar, Anthony Howell’s banjo, and the fiddle rounds it out with talented guest fiddler, John Martin Boulware.

Edgar Loudermilk shares his insight on this new release, “This is a song I wrote with Mark 'Brink' Brinkman. We wrote this song while visiting Georgia’s Tallulah Gorge. Things looked eerie up there on that mountain, so we tried to write a song that had that same mood. This one has a heavy feel with a lot of fire. We hope the listeners enjoy our new single, ‘Your Shadow Still Hangs Heavy On This Mountain.’”

The Edgar Loudermilk Band is featuring a double release of music - an all-gospel project and a secular project. This second cut from their secular project follows their earlier successful release of “My Picasso,” which received several months of chart action on Bluegrass Unlimited. The band’s recent gospel release, “The Banks of the River,” which peaked at No. 2 on the Bluegrass Today Weekly Gospel Airplay Chart, has spent a total of 10 weeks in the “Top Ten,” where it currently sits. Both releases reached No. 1 status on Bluegrass Jamboree, Hooked on Bluegrass, David Pugh’s Mountain Bluegrass, and Bluegrass Planet Radio charts.

Edgar Loudermilk, a two-time back-to-back SPBGMA “Bass Fiddle Performer of the Year” Award winner (2023 & 2024), is the proud bandleader of the Edgar Loudermilk Band. Edgar has garnered over 40 industry nominations and he recently celebrated 22 years in the bluegrass business. Edgar’s tenure on the bluegrass trail includes being a member of Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Marty Raybon & Full Circle, and seven years performing with Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out.
