DON HOWELL
Piccolo Bass Contemporary/Pop Jazz

Born in Seattle Washington, Don became interested in music at the age of 6, and started playing Bass at the age of 10.
Influenced by the seventies in Seattle, Everything was in play,from Jimi Hendrix, Motown, Stevie Wonder, Tower Of Power, Edgar Winters to Steeley Dan, Doo Whop, and Michael Franks.
There was also a great jazz influence tendered by Seattle saxophonist, Joe Brazil, and trumpeter Floyd Standifer, that led to high school stage band bringing genius like Ellington, Miles, Dizzy, as well as Maynard Ferguson and so many others into his musical realm.
After years of being a work gypsy, and now having his life settled down, the desire to share this music has re-emerged. Encouraged by the sound of the Piccolo Bass, new love, time and experience, his new CD release entitled Never Give Up is a reminder to never stop pushing.
