Biography
Dennis Adkins is one of those singer/songwriters who has toiled in the songwriting woodsheds of Nashville and never gotten the credit due for his creative contributions to the world of country music.
Just listen to "I Give You Music," and that pretty much tells Dennis Adkins' story. Besides his talent as a songwriter, his ability as a singer has also gone virtually unnoticed by the Nashville music business establishment.
Influenced by the Bakersfield country of Buck Owens and Merle Haggard and influenced by songwriters like Tommy Collins (aka the Leonard Sipes Haggard was singing about in his obscure hit, "Leonard"), Dennis did connect with George Strait resulting in his song "Ace In The Hole" becoming a chart-topping single for Strait and an anthem for Strait's "Ace In The Hole" touring band.
