Biography
Dave Richardson is a self-described introvert. In a crowd of people, he’s more than likely to be the quietest one in the room. Thrifty with his words, and soft-spoken, he’s not the guy clamoring to be heard. From a young age, music became his voice of expression, a way to process and express his feelings and thoughts. A self-taught guitarist, he was instantly drawn deep into the rich catalog of traditional and contemporary folk music; the instrumentation, the storytelling, the people, the history, and the use of music as a platform to speak out.

Dave's most recent release, Carry Me Along (2018) received considerable folk radio play, with The Alternate Root saying ""His recent release Carry Me Along helps his characters find peace as their tales are told with honesty." A new album is being prepped for a spring 2021 release.

A 2017 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival Songwriting winner (Song: We Got A Boat), Dave Richardson’s music is consistently steeped in time honored folk traditions and infused with an undeniably modern lyrical and musical sensibility.
