Biography
Charlie Karno is an outstanding and original new singer/songwriter based in North London. He has gigged all over the world – from Bangkok to New Orleans to Amsterdam. He has recorded and played with such talent as Emanuele Fizzotti, Jeff Bell, The Jack O’Hearts and Dave Skidmore.
In 2010 Charlie recorded a set of demos with Dave Skidmore (including the tracks Outlaw Code and Where Have My Flags Gone?) – and went on to perform a set of these songs with the notoriously riotous Jack O’Hearts.
In 2011 Charlie recorded his debut album Altar of Greed with Jeff Bell at Garden Studios in London, with songs such as Nothing and No Cash emerging from sessions steeped in the heady influence of various poisons...
The album was released though Rhythm Of The System Records and also included classic tracks such as Town in Wyoming and 2 of Me which were recorded separately with producer/musician Dior Lanois. The album was mixed by Oscar Cainer and mastered by Pete Maher.
In late 2011 Charlie started writing for his second album and whilst doing so met Emanuele Fizzotti, one of Italy's foremost blues/rock guitarists. A successful collaboration was born, and the duo decided to record and gig together.
This explosive new combination of talent bears its first fruit in the form of the newly released album Pills or God... which includes tracks such as Preacher Man, Nightmares and Punish Them. Several of the tracks on the album also include backing vocals performed by Italian singer Marina Schiavinato.
