Biography

Bishop Buster Simmons is the Founder and Overseer of New Life Christian Fellowship in Newark, New Jersey. Among his many accomplishments, he established the New Life Child Care Center & New Life Community Development Cooperation where he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of both entities. The child care center began as a summer program and flourished into a two-facility program.

As an active member in the community, Bishop Simmons established an Annual Community Outreach with a “Community Block Fellowship”. This event has served as a catalyst to bring the residents of Newark and its politician together to promote open communication that has stimulated many politicians in attendance.

Bishop Simmons can be viewed on his weekly (one hour) “Showers of Blessings” television ministry which appears on Cablevision.

Bishop Simmons holds a Doctorate of Theology, Master of Theology, Bachelor in Theology and Certificate is Pastoral Counseling.

Bishop Simmons has sung with the world-renowned Angelic Choir under the leadership of the late Rev. Lawrence Roberts. He is also the founder of The Disciples of Truth contemporary gospel singing group> The Disciples of Truth recently celebrated and released their 30 year in ministry project which was released in winter of 2008.
