Biography
Bottles and cans, pots and pans, raise your hands, clap your hands, that is how it all began for BG-763. It all came together in January 2011 for cousins Garderbelt Gardner and Skeeter Trudell. Seclusion, delusion was shed from all past dread. The dreams that they have shared for music have finally come to pass, at last."We have a common thread and love affair with music," says Skeeter,"Everyday people experience and feel things that can be related to music. We understand that music is here for us all, and to help us heal and become closer to the source, the nature of everthing. That is what I strive and struggle to reach everyday." BG 763 use music as a platform to raise their own awarenees and consciousness and hope to spread a message of unity. Skeeter continues,"We live in a society, and a world, where we have class seperation, creed sepereation, political seperation, you name it, there is seperation. I say bullocks! Why don't we try saying hello to everyone we meet, that would be a good start to helping making the world a better place."
Skeeter Trudell, known in the Americana and Blues circles as Bryan Himes, has been playing and traveling for sometime. As a solo preformer he has played with acts Everlast, Paul 'Wine' Jones, Bright Eyes, Chip Taylor, Angie Aparo, and Carrie Rodriguez. His music has been featured on radio along with the Blues greats, BB King, John Lee Hooker, and Buddy Guy. He has been compared to Jimi Hendrix, Keb Mo, and Son House. Skeeter has always had a deep and wide appreciation for all forms of music, which has lead him to this adventure. " I wanted a sound to call my own, that was apart of me", with BG 763 he found his voice, a place to call home.
In stepped Garderbelt Gardner, with his love of electronics and his passion for soundwave landscapes. They both brought new material and song ideas to the table and began working on the project that would turn into BG 763. Putting the attitude and social spirit of Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, The Clash, and U2 and mixing it with the eclectic and daring sounds of Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley, Beck. A big strength of BG 763 is Skeeter can flat out sing, and write a hook with melody, yet lyrically be interesting
and entertaining. The vibe, and groove will take you on a journey, once you take it you may never be the same person again. The music of BG 763 is not for the faint of heart, it will test your spirit and the true nature of your being.
BG 763 has just released their self-titled debut EP on their own NeW FocuS label. They are already working toward a second EP release and an upcoming tour.
