Biography
April's professional start came as backup singer for aspiring Nashville artist TERRY RADIGAN opening for established acts including America and, during one memorable evening at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, The Band featuring Bruce Springsteen as a special guest. April also sang backup vocals in the studio for MELBA MOORE under producer GENE McFADDEN in New York City. April has performed as a soloist on cable and national television programs, including Star Search with host Ed McMahon, as well as various live stages in New York City, Los Angeles and Nashville.

After entertaining a production deal with Broadbeard Productions (Debbie Gibson) in the dance-rock genre, April decided to instead form a straight-ahead original hard rock band in New York City, releasing an album of songs titled “Dancin’ Thru The Mine Fields," co-produced by DANIEL WISE (Joan Osborne, Scissor Sisters, Maceo Parker). As an artist, April’s vocal performances have been characterized as “powerful, yet vulnerable," and likened to Pat Benatar, Linda Ronstadt and Paula Cole by industry professionals and her peers. April's original rock band performed in major NYC rock clubs, including The Cat Club, The China Club, and The Marquee. Her next release was a solo album of original songs titled “Watercolors Fade," which she co-produced with STEVE SKINNER (Rent, Celine Dion, Jewel).

As a composer and lyricist, April was honored in New York City with an Abe Oleman Scholarship from the National Academy of Popular Music and BMI, has written with hit songwriters ALEX FORBES (Taylor Dayne "Don't Rush Me", Alicia, Joey Lawrence, and other pop artists), JON ROBBIN (Lorrie Morgan, Chris Cagle, and more), and ANNA LISA GRAHAM (George Strait, Martina McBride, Alan Jackson and other country artists), WILL RAMBEAUX (Heart, Faith Hill and other rock and country artists) and collaborated with many others. April’s songs have been placed in cable advertising, institutional, and recorded independently.

April’s vision of writing songs with a universal message of living authentically and honoring oneself has remained unshakable over the years. April’s songs are currently airing on Women Of Substance Radio online, have been charted in the top 10 on SoundClick.com, and have merited various local and national songwriter awards. April has written for special projects, including co-write “Home Again” utilized as the theme song for Fellowships of the Spirit educational institution for over a decade now, her recent “Everybody Wins” composed specifically for the charitable organization Everybody Wins! which promotes adult mentoring programs for reading with kids, and material used in advertising. April’s new release “Unpainting Portraits” is already gaining fans and industry notice. April continues to write and shop material for radio and film/TV projects internationally.
