Biography
George and Ira Gershwin continue to be the highest earning songwriters in the history of popular music decades after their passing. Alexis Gershwin, their last living niece, recorded a tribute to her beloved uncles with a CD called Gershwin Sings Gershwin. Billy Terrell was contacted by her manager for creative and marketing advice.
After reviewing the material several times, Billy. who is considered one of the pioneers of the Disco era, suggested a comtemporary dance mix of "The Man I Love". The Gershwin team agreed and Billy went to work. He hired Mr. Mig, a super hot producer/remixer who does a lot of work for major artists and labels, to produce an entirely new. contemporary, high energy dance track all around Alexis' original vocal performance.
The results are amazing. Radio and dance club DJs have embraced the track. Modern rhythms combined with retro elements come together to form a cult classic.
