Biography
On August 3rd 2009, Edinburgh pop-punk quintet A Day Overdue release their second E.P "Heroes And Villains". Four tracks of sheer quality, with all of the signature sounds you would expect from the band plus some new twists and turns, it should prove to be one of the releases of the year on the Scottish independent music scene. Opening track "A Work Of Heart" sets the tone with three minutes of flawless pop-rock mixed with the slightly heavier elements that give the band their edge. The flirtatious pop-punk sound of "My First Felony" ups the energy levels before "Kiss And Tell", a story of teenage romance gone wrong, brings the record towards it's climax. However the real star of this E.P is the appropriately titled "Your Star", a true power ballad for the 21st century combining classic rock and modern elements, which has seen the band rise to a new level of songwriting. On this form, 2010 looks to be a breakout year for A Day Overdue, with their debut full length due in January ahead of a UK tour. This collection of songs needs to be heard, so as the band say in signature live song "Scarecrows", come come get it.
