Perhaps youll be the first to find a new use for them but with their no-genre claim to fame rock slipping through the cracks; its just a trip to nowhere fast. Vocoder takes the wheel and puts the car in drive. Dont look back. Whereas most bands take their great leaps from album to album, Vocoder is constantly metamorphosing. On their latest self-titled album, you can actually hear evolution taking place. The hardest part of encompassing it, is departing your newly beloved and clicking to the next song. Dont worry, the melodical grass keeps getting greener and you will return. Vocoders music is original yet, familiar. The band definitely wears their collective influences on its sleeve. Fans have described the music as, If you were to take the epic musical stylings of Muse and Dredge, mixed with the rhythm of Queens of the Stoneage, and set on top the vocals of such front men as Scott Weiland and Jeff Buckley, then you might be able to envision Vocoders sound.

While the album ended up being self-produced, with the help of Grammy Award winning Engineer Ibo Rodriguez, the band initially started working with legendary engineer and producer, Andy Johns . Hes most notably known for his work with Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Joe Satriani, and Jethro Tull . With the completion of the album, Vocoder plans to play San Diego and L.A. venues over the months to come. This set of ever-turning wheels consists of vocalist Miles Coleman, bassist Troy Rippengale, guitarist James Albers, and drummer Twon.
