Multi-instrumentalist Troy Engle is excited for the release of his brand new single, “Never Too Lost.” The original song will be part of the Pennsylvania native’s forthcoming full-length project Back Home, coming in 2024 via Pinecastle Records.
"I was driving past a church one day close to my house, and I saw the sign out front said something like; “You’re never too far from God”, and I thought, yeah “You’re never too far and you’re never too lost”. So my pal Bill Whyte and I wrote it at our next writing session. I really like the mid tempo groove of the song, and I was excited that we wrote a song with the word Timbuktu in it! Bill is really fun to write with, as he takes a tune to places I didn’t know they could go, and comes up with great ideas, I would have never thought of. Bluegrass gospel music is close to my heart, and I love singing and playing it. The song is a great reminder, that there’s no where we can go that God’s love can’t find us." -Troy Engle
The song showcases Engle's world-class talents by performing every instrument heard on the recording. It’s a theme that is also maintained from the previous single “Outrun The Pain,” along with the title track, both released last year. In addition to playing acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, upright bass and drums, Engle also performs both lead and harmony vocals throughout.
Listeners can also hear the inspiration on all the new music that has been gathered over the years while the singer has shared the stage with an array of different fan-favorites like Patty Loveless, The Isaacs, Larry Sparks, Buddy Jewell, Leon Russell and more. His compositions have also been featured on top TV shows like The Voice, American Pickers, Duck Dynasty, and Pawn Stars.
