World-class musician Troy Engle is getting into the holiday spirit with the release of his new single, “Frosty Pines.” The original tune delivers down-home lyrics that are sure to put everyone in the Christmas spirit, with a tale of a nostalgic winter wonderland.

“I wrote ‘Frosty Pines’ with long time co-writer and great friend Rick Lang. I was at an after Christmas sale at a local store with my family, and I saw the artificial trees they had on clearance,” explains Engle. “A few of them already had ‘snow’ on them, and they were called frosted pines. I thought, ‘Frosty Pines’ - that would be a great holiday song title, and I even said to myself, ‘that’s one Rick and I are gonna write’ - and we did! At our next appointment, I told Rick the idea and he loved it. So we just started writing about coming home to the Frosty Pines at Christmas time, and all the things this guy missed while being away.”

As Engle mentioned, “Frosty Pines” was co-written alongside award-winning songwriter Rick Lang. It was influenced by Bill Monroe’s classic “Christmas Time’s A Comin’” and its bouncy bluegrass feel. The result is a must-hear anthem that captures all of the things associated with returning home to loved ones, but while also reflecting on all the things listeners love about the holidays. All instrumentation and vocals continue a theme where the singer/songwriter performed every part heard on the recording.

Engle has been building hype since signing with Pinecastle Records in 2023. Much of his music is inspired by the Pennsylvania native’s years on stage performing with fan-favorites like Patty Loveless, The Isaacs, Larry Sparks, Buddy Jewell, Leon Russell and more. His compositions have also been featured on top TV shows like The Voice, American Pickers, Duck Dynasty, and Pawn Stars.
