Biography
HISTORY

The name The Peaceful Hearts has been around for quite sometime. Taking it from the Holy Bible from Colossians 3;15, (And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful) Beginning in the late 1980's the group was formed. The ministry continues today with two of the groups original members, John (Eddie) Allen and his beautiful wife Becky. Married for more than 28 years, Eddie and Becky started singing and writing songs together in the early years of their marriage.

J. Eddie Allen started out singing Gospel music around 40 years ago with his Dad's Bluegrass Gospel group, The Allen Brothers Qt. from Charleston, WV. at the age of around 6. Eddie continued in his musical ministry from a young child singing with a few local groups in the Charleston, WV area including, Jimmy Washington & The Revelators The Christian Echoes, and Eddie Allen & The Gospel Sounds. Prior to forming The Peaceful Hearts Eddie had the privilege of singing with the late Conrad Cook & The Calvary Echoes. You might remember Conrad as a tremendous songwriter of such songs as The Old ship Of Zion, Glory Road and many others. In the 1980’s Eddie and Becky felt God calling them to a ministry together, thus forming The Peaceful Hearts.

Becky (Pauley) Allen came from a large family that was raised up singing in church. "I am so thankful for a mother and father that brought me up in church. Showing me the right path in life to take." Becky has always felt a calling in her life to sing and write songs. "I remember as a very young girl being outside with my pen and paper writing songs."

Recently we added a brand new member. Our long time friend and Bass Singer, J.T. Withrow. J.T. is the former member of The New Prophets Qt. From Nitro, West Virginia. He has played and sang Gospel music for more than 29 years with such great groups as the Roarks from Tennesee. The WV Couriers. We are so proud to have what we feel one of southern Gospel music's finest Bass singers and Drummers with our Ministry.

"We are simply amazed at the work God is doing in our lives since answering the call back to his Ministry in 2008. After a long journey away, we felt God drawing us back and he sent a New Awakening and a Fresh Anointing. We are so thankful for the grace and mercy he has bestowed in our lives." Our main desire is to lead lost souls to Christ. That we might be a vessel he can use going into every service open to what God has in store. Allowing his anointing to flow and to see peoples lives changed through his mercy and grace.

Accomplishments

Most of all we have seen souls saved, touched and healed during our new journey. We began recording and releasing our original songs. In the early 1990’s one of the songs released called 'The Shadow Of The Cross' written by at that time piano player Eddie Matoy went to number 66 in The Singing News top 80 Charts. The Album was recorded and Produced by Darrel Freeman on the Goldenvine Label.

In June of 2009 the weekly 100% fan voted chart at The Gospel music Times began charting our single The little boy and Grandpa and it has climbed as far as # 2 on that chart. Recently we were honored to be in the top 5 Artist nominated for the Sunrise group of the year for the 2009 Diamond awards being held in Branson, Mo.

What others say about our Ministry

"As Pastor of Shelby Church of God, I speak for the congregation when I say that it is an honor to be the home church of Eddie and Becky Allen. They have been a blessing to our church both in the ministry of music and as valued members of our congregation. The love the Allen’s have for the Lord and for the body of Christ shines through in their ministry. God has sent them forth to proclaim His love with song and our church is privileged to be able to share in the ministry of Eddie and Becky."

I had the privilege of working in the studio with the powerful duo of The Peaceful Hearts and found the heartfelt vocals and sincere spirit's of these wonderful folks to be a dynamite combination. The soul-stirring country feel that they convey is so pleasing to the ear but even more so to the heart. I would encourage you to take time to become familiar with the ministry of The Peaceful Hearts. You'll be glad you did.
