Biography
The Last Internationale started out as a acoustic folk duo, Edgey and Delila, about a year ago with the release of their debut album, which sold over 1,000 copies within the first six months. Along the way, they were joined by a drummer (Simran) and bassist (Son Marcus) to form a rock and roll/blues/punk/folk band. Whether as the folk duo or the entire band, The Last Internationale often performs at festivals, benefits, coffee houses, and bars throughout the Northeast and Midwest United States, playing over 150 shows in the past year alone.

TLI has performed with M1 of the veteran hip-hop group Dead Prez. They have also performed with David Peel, founder of Orange Records and a former Apple Recording artist with his old friend John Lennon. Recently, the folk duo had the opportunity to perform one of their songs, "Workers of the World- Unite!," to one of their all-time heroes, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, one of this countries most enduring folk singers and now a grammy winner. Ramblin' Jack was "very impressed" with the performance and recommended to the folk duo that they show the song to Pete Seeger. This Spring the Folk duo will also be opening up for the legendary Buffy Sainte-Marie.

Radio Stations and T.V. shows that have featured TLI's music include the award-winning show Democracy Now!, WBAI in NY, Breakout Radio, Tucson, Az; BISHOP FM, the U.K.; A3 Radio, Ann Arbor, M.I.; Audio Port, Texas; the Jeff Farias show, broadcast in the U.S. and Sweden; Radio Arcos De Valdevez, Portugal; WHRU, Binghamton, NY; WBUR, Boston, MA; and 3CR, Australia.

The band was recently contacted by television producer Lisa Blake (FOX, ABC, E!) to be featured in an upcoming documentary film with music icons such as U2 and Sting. Freedom Rocks!, as the movie is called, is directed by Academy Award-winner William Gazecki and is produced by veteran industry pros Ken Kummings and Robert Cutarella, who both won a Grammy for their shared efforts on "Les Paul and Friends," a tribute album to music legend Les Paul.

Of all their accomplishments, the one they are most proud of is their efforts in the international campaign to free Troy Davis, an innocent man on death row in the state of Georgia. The band was personally thanked by Amnesty International and Troy's sister for their song, "Free Troy Davis!"

The Last Internationale is currently working on their second album, which is being mastered by Fred Kevorkian, whose clients include Willie Nelson, The White Stripes, Ryan Adams, Dave Matthews Band, Sonny Rollins, and Iggy Pop. TLI is also going to release a record this year with David Peel on Sympathy for the Record Industry, the label that put out the first three White Stripes Albums.
